Driving from a photo shoot we passed through the small village (population less than 9,000) of Middleton, Massachusetts, known mostly as the home for several of the Boston Bruins. I chuckled as we drove by the local police station. Out front is Car 54.
Juliet was more than a decade younger than me and from Britain so I had to explain. It’s a classic television show starring Joe E. Ross and Fred Gwynne (a.k.a. Herman Munster – also a classic TV show). The series focuses on two police officers; Toody and Muldoon were the odd couple in New York City force. It lasted two seasons.
Chrysler provided the cars, four for the first season and seven for the second. They were painted red because the show was shot in black and white -- red showed up as gray.
