“I specialize in tinted photography. Because nothing is black and white.”
In 2009 I began my photography career by shooting for travel blogs and magazines. I shifted to more of a fine arts feel in my work. I became more fascinated by colors. Capturing colors is my goal now. Because colors set the tone and mood of the photograph. It’s more important than textures and patterns, and often lines. My work in “tinted” photography is an examination of color. I use Lightroom (a photography editing software) to enhance colors or blur out or fade unwanted subject matter. Then, I isolate one or two dominate colors which offers contrast, making the chosen color(s) “pop”. In the darker areas, there’s a sense of mystery and forcing the viewer to see the subtle details. I’m often drawn to scenery, everyday objects, architectural details and Nature. But it’s always the color(s) of the subject matter that captures my attention first. |
